Bryant Breland Obituary

Bryant Breland, age 61, was born on October 28, 1964, in Brooklyn, New York. He was the beloved son of the late Hiawatha and Annabell Breland. Bryant lived a life marked by generosity, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for music, community, and fellowship.

Bryant shared over three decades of marriage with his wife, Dianne Breland. They maintained their bond of friendship, love, and mutual respect throughout the years. Together, they raised one son, Kenyon Breland, who was the pride and joy of Bryant’s life. Above all else, Bryant cherished time spent with his family, especially Dianne and Kenyon.

He is survived by his sister, Angela Breland-Hernandez of Windsor, Connecticut, and her husband Stanley Hernandez; his brother, Sherone “Boo” Breland of Anderson, South Carolina, and his wife Angie Breland; and a paternal sister, Darlene Keller. He also leaves behind his mother- and father-in-law, Clarence and Savanna Johnson of Iva, South Carolina.

Bryant is survived by his brothers- and sisters-in-law: Bernard (Shelia) Johnson, Stanley (Tabitha) Johnson, Eula Johnson, and Tommy Johnson, all of Anderson, South Carolina. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces Mariah Wright of Anderson, South Carolina, and Kittrell Breland of Queens, New York; and his nephews Zaveus Johnson, Kyree Wright, Christian (Kaliyah) Johnson, and Nigel Johnson, all of Anderson, South Carolina, and Justin Breland of Windsor, Connecticut.

Bryant attended Forest College in Anderson, South Carolina, where he earned a degree in Business Management. He dedicated over two decades of his professional life to Bi-Lo and Food Lion, serving consistently in managerial roles and earning the respect of colleagues through his strong work ethic and leadership.

Known to many as a true “giver,” Bryant generously volunteered within his community, serving Thanksgiving meals and donating food and money to those in need. His compassion and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Bryant had a deep love for music and singing. He sang with the Gospel Southern Wonders and appreciated every genre of music, with a special affection for The Beatles. His passion for their music led him to share it widely with family and friends—many of whom continue to cherish that introduction today.

A self-described “foodie,” Bryant enjoyed traveling, visiting both the beach and the mountains, and savoring new experiences. He loved watching and attending football, basketball, and baseball games with his son, Kenyon. In addition to sports, he enjoyed watching wrestling, crime dramas, and the television show Pickers.

Bryant Breland will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, love of family, and the joy he brought into the lives of others. His legacy of love and giving will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
